James Gillies

James Gillies began his research career working at CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, in the mid-1980s. In 1993, he became head of science with the British Council in Paris before returning to CERN in 1995 as a science writer. His current position at CERN is Head of Communications, a role he's held since 2003. James is also co-author of How the Web was Born, a history of the internet published in 2000.
