Sarah Rajani has been appointed head of communications at the global private equity house Apax Partners on an interim basis. Sarah is responsible for Apax’s press relations, marketing and public affairs.
She joins from the fashion retailer New Look, itself a portfolio company of Apax, where she was group communications director. Sarah was previously global vice president of strategic development and investor relations at Samsonite and prior to this an equity analyst at DrKW and Citigroup.
Samsonite International S.A. is a multinational luggage manufacturer and retailer, with products ranging from large suitcases to small toiletries bags and briefcases. It was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1910 by Jesse Shwayder. Shwayder named one of his initial cases Samson, after the Biblical strongman, and began using the trademark Samsonite in 1941. The company changed its name to Samsonite in 1966. The company's registered office is in Luxembourg and it is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
